Repairing and replacing teeth

What Is Restorative Dentistry?

Restorative dentistry is care used to repair damaged teeth or replace missing ones. Depending on your needs, treatment may involve a crown that covers a tooth, a bridge that spans a gap, a full or partial denture, or a dental implant with a replacement tooth. Treatment may take one or two visits. Crowns and bridges can be made in our office with CEREC technology or through a dental laboratory.

Get Back To Living Fully

Benefits of Restorative Dentistry

When damage or tooth loss changes how you experience your mouth, restorative dentistry can feel like a meaningful step toward feeling whole again. With thoughtful care, you can move from managing a dental concern to seeing a clearer path forward, knowing your treatment is designed around your needs and the parts of daily life that matter most now and in years ahead.

Enjoy A Wider Range Of Foods
When chewing becomes difficult, meals can feel limited and frustrating. Restorative care helps you handle more of the foods you enjoy, from fresh produce to satisfying proteins, so eating can feel more comfortable and nourishing again.
Gaps or damaged teeth can make certain sounds harder to form and leave you second-guessing your words. Restoring your smile supports clearer speech, helping conversations at work, home, and social events feel more natural.
Missing or damaged teeth can affect how freely you smile during introductions, photos, and everyday conversations. Rebuilding your smile helps you feel more at ease in social and professional settings, so your expression reflects how you truly feel.
A gap can give nearby teeth room to shift, changing the way your smile fits together. Filling that space helps support a more stable arrangement, protecting the balance of your mouth as you continue with daily chewing and speaking.
Dental concerns can make simple activities feel like tasks that require extra planning. Once your smile is restored, you can focus less on working around your teeth and more on work, family plans, errands, and the moments that fill your day.
Restorative care is designed to bring back strength, function, and a natural appearance after dental damage or tooth loss. With consistent home care and regular visits, you can feel more prepared to protect your restored smile over the years.

You eat, speak, and connect with renewed confidence in your restored smile.

Clarity for Your Smile

Could Restorative Dentistry Fit Your Needs?

Deciding whether restorative dentistry fits your needs can feel uncertain, especially when dental problems have developed over time. This section offers a simple self-check before a complete evaluation clarifies which options may support health, comfort, and confidence.

Patients Restoring Damaged Teeth

When decay, injury, or a failing large filling leaves a tooth weak, restorative care may rebuild its shape and strength. You may find everyday chewing and smiling feel more comfortable again.

Patients Replacing Missing Teeth

A gap from one or more missing teeth can disrupt eating, speaking, and confidence. If implants are not a good fit, you may be a candidate for a bridge within a broader restorative plan.

Patients Restarting Delayed Care

Years of putting off treatment can make widespread damage feel overwhelming. You can begin without judgment, with comprehensive, long-term treatment planning that may rebuild health and function in manageable stages.

Does This Sound Like You?

These profiles can bring useful clarity when treatment needs feel uncertain. A complete evaluation lets us understand your concerns and explain how restorative dentistry may support greater health, comfort, and confidence.

Your Path Back to Comfort

Restorative Dentistry can connect these concerns with comprehensive care and a clearer path toward comfort and renewed confidence.

What to Expect

The Restorative Dentistry Process in Three Clear Steps

Restorative Dentistry can feel more manageable when the plan is clear. We explain your options in plain language, discuss comfort and costs, and give you space to ask questions. Knowing what to expect helps you feel prepared as we work toward a healthier, more functional smile.
1

Begin with a Consultation

Your first visit focuses on your concerns, goals, and overall oral health. We examine the areas that need attention and explain which restorative options may fit your needs. If dental implants are part of your plan, we also consider your jawbone support and discuss preparation such as bone grafting when appropriate.
2

Receive Your Restorative Care

The treatment phase depends on your plan and may include a crown, bridge, denture, dental implant placement, or an all-porcelain restoration. We keep you informed and focus on your comfort while damaged teeth are repaired or missing teeth are replaced with restorations designed for function and appearance.
3

Leave with Renewed Function

Follow-up care gives us a chance to check your healing, fit, comfort, and bite. Dental implants may need three to six months for bone fusion before their final restoration is attached. In the end, you can eat, speak, and share your smile with greater ease and confidence.

Patient FAQs

Restorative Dentistry FAQs

Restorative Dentistry can raise questions about treatment choices, comfort, timing, and cost. We explain how care can repair damaged teeth or replace missing ones, then help you understand your options. Please reach out if something important to you is not covered below.

What does Restorative Dentistry include?

Restorative Dentistry repairs or replaces teeth affected by decay, damage, or tooth loss. Depending on your needs, care may include fillings, crowns, dental implants, bridges, or dentures. We first evaluate your teeth and gums, then explain which combination supports your daily function and goals.
Your candidacy depends on the condition of your teeth, gums, and supporting bone, along with the number of teeth needing care. Untreated decay or gum problems may require attention first. During your evaluation, we will review your health and explain suitable restorative options.
First, we discuss your concerns, examine your mouth, and review any needed x-rays. We then explain whether a filling, crown, implant, bridge, or denture may fit your situation. You will also learn about the treatment sequence, expected visits, and care required afterward.
Many restorative procedures are completed with local numbing to help keep you comfortable. Some tenderness or sensitivity can occur afterward, depending on the treatment. We will explain what you may notice during recovery and how to reach us if discomfort continues or concerns arise.
Typically, the timeline depends on the number of teeth involved and the type of restoration. A filling may be completed in one visit, while a crown, bridge, denture, or dental implant can require additional appointments. We will outline your schedule before treatment begins.
The lifespan of a restoration varies with its material, location, daily habits, and maintenance. Crowns, bridges, dentures, and dental implants each require different care. Brushing, flossing, regular checkups, and avoiding habits that damage teeth can help you protect your investment.
Dental implants are one way to replace missing teeth, but they are not the only option. Depending on your needs, we may discuss a bridge or denture instead. We will compare how each choice addresses tooth loss, daily function, maintenance, and treatment timing.
Remove your dentures before bed after following the initial wear instructions from your dentist. Brush them with a soft-bristled toothbrush and nonabrasive cleaner, then place them in an overnight soaking solution. Avoid regular toothpaste, which can scratch the denture surface.
Coverage depends on your plan and the treatment recommended. Restorative care for decay, damage, or missing teeth may qualify differently from elective services. We will review the financial details with you, explain available payment options, and provide a personalized estimate before care begins.
You can share your concerns with us before treatment starts. We will explain each step in plain language, answer your questions, and review comfort measures available for your procedure. Knowing the plan ahead of time can make the appointment feel more manageable and familiar.

Two Generations of Caring Naples Dentists

We believe every patient deserves to feel heard, informed, and confident in their care. Our doctors bring decades of combined experience along with a genuine commitment to treating you like family.
Practicing since 1982, Dr. Gery has perfected the smiles of multiple generations of Naples families. A Case Western Reserve University graduate, he’s been voted a Gulfshore Magazine Top Dentist every year since 2011. He treats every patient gently and takes time to give each one his full attention.

Born and raised in Naples, Dr. Anthony returned home to continue his father’s legacy after earning his DMD from Case Western Reserve University. An Eagle Scout with “Mentor” status in CEREC technology, he blends the technical and artistic sides of dentistry, and patients often comment on his caring chairside manner.

Dr. Chelsea earned her DMD from Case Western Reserve University, where she received honors from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and she is Past President of the Collier County Dental Association. She focuses on smile design and clear aligner orthodontics, and she explains each step so you know what to expect.
A second-generation dentist raised in Colombia, Dr. Adriana trained through USC’s Advanced Standing Program and graduated with honors in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon society. Inspired by her late father’s passion for dentistry, she chose our family-owned practice and honors his memory through the dedication she brings to every patient.
