Replacing Roots and Teeth

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are tooth-replacement structures that recreate a missing tooth’s root and visible portion. A titanium post is placed in your jawbone, where it fuses with surrounding bone over about three to six months. After healing, an abutment connects the post to a custom restoration. Depending on how many teeth are missing, that restoration may be a crown, bridge, or denture.

Restore More Of Life

Benefits of Dental Implants

Tooth loss can change more than your smile, especially when daily choices begin to feel limited. Dental implants offer a way to rebuild what is missing with a result designed around your needs. As you learn what this service can make possible, you can look beyond short-term compromises and picture a more secure foundation for life ahead.

Enjoy More Of Your Favorite Foods
When missing teeth limit your meals, dining can become a source of frustration. Dental implants provide the stability to enjoy most foods again, from crisp fruits and vegetables to satisfying proteins, so you can share meals with fewer restrictions.
Replacement teeth should fit into your life, not add extra tasks to it. Dental implants do not require adhesives or special cleaning solutions, helping you care for your smile with familiar daily habits and fewer adjustments.
Missing teeth can make you hesitate during photos, introductions, or casual conversations. A natural-looking replacement can help you feel more at ease in social and professional settings, so your smile supports the way you want to show up.
Tooth loss can gradually affect the bone that supports your face, contributing to a sunken appearance. Dental implants stimulate the jawbone as you chew, helping maintain a fuller facial structure while supporting the foundation of your smile.
Nearby teeth may drift into an open space after tooth loss, changing how your smile fits together. Replacing the missing tooth helps maintain that space, supporting a more stable arrangement for chewing, speaking, and caring for your natural teeth.
Choosing a replacement that can serve you for decades may reduce the need to revisit the same tooth loss concern. With consistent care and regular dental visits, dental implants can support your smile and quality of life for years to come.

You move forward with a secure smile designed for daily life.

Possibility Starts with Clarity

Are Dental Implants Right for You?

Uncertainty about implant candidacy can make replacing missing teeth feel complicated. This self-check can help you consider whether dental implants may fit your needs before our in-office consultation assesses your health, jawbone, and goals.

Adults Replacing Missing Teeth

Missing teeth can make comfortable eating and open smiling harder. When your overall health, gums, and jawbone support treatment, dental implants may provide a strong base for a crown, bridge, or denture.

Denture Users Seeking Stability

Daily slipping can make meals and conversations feel uncertain. If you want greater stability, dental implants can anchor implant supported dentures, helping you feel more secure while eating, speaking, and spending time with others.

Patients Reconsidering Implant Options

Being told your jawbone is thin may leave you doubting implants are possible. After careful evaluation, options such as a bone graft or sinus lift may strengthen the area before implant placement.

Does This Sound Like You?

Questions about implant candidacy are common and completely understandable. A thoughtful consultation considers your overall health, jawbone, and goals, giving us the details needed to explain whether dental implants may fit your needs.

A New Beginning for Your Smile

Dental implants placed and restored in-house can make a more secure smile feel possible, with renewed confidence.

Treatment timeline

The Dental Implant Treatment Process in Three Clear Steps

Dental implant treatment can feel more manageable when clear information replaces uncertainty. We explain what your visits may involve, answer questions about comfort, and help you prepare for each phase. With thoughtful planning and in-house placement and restoration, you can approach replacing missing teeth with greater confidence.
1

Plan Your Implant Care

A first visit gives you space to share your goals, health history, and concerns about missing teeth. We examine your mouth and consider jawbone support. If the bone is thin or weak, options such as a bone graft or sinus lift may be discussed before implants. Clear answers help ease first-visit worries and leave you prepared.
2

Place the Implant

Once your plan is ready, implant surgery places a titanium post in your jaw, usually taking one to two hours per implant. We keep you informed and focused on comfort during the visit. A temporary crown protects the area while your mouth begins its recovery, so the experience may feel more manageable than you expected.
3

Restore Your Smile

Over the next three to six months, your implant undergoes bone fusion, creating a stable foundation. Follow-up visits help us check healing and fit before we connect an abutment and complete your care with a crown, bridge, or denture. You walk away with a secure, natural-looking smile that supports meals, conversations, and daily confidence.

Patient FAQs

Dental Implants FAQs

Questions about Dental Implants often involve candidacy, surgery, healing, cost, and daily care. We explain each phase in plain language and help you understand what fits your needs. Reach out to our compassionate dental team if your concern is not covered below.

What are Dental Implants, and how do they work?

Dental Implants replace missing tooth roots with titanium posts in the jaw. We then connect an abutment, a small adaptor, to a custom crown, bridge, or denture. Because implants replace the root as well as the visible tooth, they can support appearance, chewing, and jawbone structure.
Costs vary with the number of teeth being replaced, preliminary procedures, and final restoration. Dental insurance may treat implant-related services differently, so coverage depends on your plan. We will review your treatment details and explain payment options before care begins.
Most patients find implant surgery easier than they expected. The procedure typically takes one to two hours per implant, followed by a healing period. We provide specific post-operative instructions, and you can reach out if discomfort or another concern arises during recovery.
Typically, implant treatment is a process that takes several months. After placement, the implant fuses with the surrounding jawbone, a process called bone fusion, which averages three to six months. Then we attach the abutment and place your final crown, bridge, or denture.
Good overall health and adequate jawbone density can support implant treatment. A thin or weak jawbone does not automatically rule you out. We may recommend a bone graft or sinus lift, a procedure that adds support, before placing your implants.
Dr. Gery Benza and Dr. Anthony Benza are qualified to perform the surgical portion of implant treatment in our office. We also restore implants in-house, so your surgical and restorative care stays connected through one practice and one coordinated treatment plan.
Implants are not the only way to replace missing teeth. Depending on how many teeth you have lost, we may discuss a traditional bridge, denture, or implant-supported restoration. We will compare the options with you, including how they affect stability, appearance, maintenance, and treatment timing.
On surgery day, we place the titanium post in your jaw and cover it with a healing cap to protect the area. The appointment generally takes one to two hours per implant. Afterward, we explain your next steps and the care needed while healing progresses.
Your implants still require daily care and regular professional visits. Brush for two minutes twice a day, floss each morning or evening, and rinse with an ADA-approved mouthwash. Every six months, we examine your implants, check for gum disease, and screen for oral cancer.
If you feel nervous, tell us during your consultation so we can answer your questions clearly. Our team will also discuss a variety of sedation options available to make your treatment experience less stressful.

A Case Western Reserve University graduate, he’s been voted a Gulfshore Magazine Top Dentist every year since 2011. He treats every patient gently and takes time to give each one his full attention.

Born and raised in Naples, Dr. Anthony returned home to continue his father’s legacy after earning his DMD from Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Chelsea earned her DMD from Case Western Reserve University, where she received honors from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and she is Past President of the Collier County Dental Association. She focuses on smile design and clear aligner orthodontics, and she explains each step so you know what to expect.
A second-generation dentist raised in Colombia, Dr. Adriana trained through USC’s Advanced Standing Program and graduated with honors in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon society.
