Services We Offer

Oral Surgery Services We Offer

Understanding your oral surgery options can make a difficult decision feel more manageable, especially when saving a natural tooth is no longer possible. We explain the recommended care and next steps, including replacement choices that can help you eat, speak, and smile with confidence.
When a tooth cannot be saved, we remove it in our office and discuss implants, bridges, or dentures to help restore your smile afterward.
If jawbone loss affects implant planning, bone grafting can add volume and create a stronger foundation before we reevaluate your replacement options.
A sinus lift can help address limited upper-jaw bone by creating the height needed to support future implant treatment when appropriate.

Surgical Care for Oral Health

What Is Oral Surgery?

Oral surgery is dental care that uses surgical techniques to address conditions involving the teeth, gums, or jaw. Depending on your needs, it may include removing a tooth that cannot be repaired or preparing the mouth for a denture or implant prosthesis. The process includes an examination, treatment discussion, the planned procedure, and healing instructions, with replacement options discussed after an extraction.

Move Forward With Confidence

Benefits of Oral Surgery

When a dental problem feels overwhelming, knowing your care has a clear purpose can make the experience easier to face. Oral surgery creates a path toward addressing complex concerns with thoughtful planning and focused care. You can move ahead with a better understanding of what comes next and renewed confidence in your oral health.

Address Urgent Dental Concerns
When a dental issue disrupts your day, oral surgery can address concerns that may not improve on their own. You can spend less time working around discomfort and more time focused on your responsibilities, relationships, and regular routine.
A serious oral health problem can make ordinary parts of your day feel difficult. As your mouth heals, you may find it easier to resume work, household tasks, and personal activities without the same dental concern taking center stage.
Uncertainty often makes dental care feel more stressful than it needs to be. With a clear plan for oral surgery, you can understand your next steps, prepare for recovery, and approach treatment with greater calm.
Leaving a complex dental concern unaddressed can affect more than one area of your mouth. Timely care may help protect nearby teeth and tissues, giving you a stronger foundation for maintaining your oral health over time.
Dental problems can affect how freely you speak, smile, or take part in conversations. When oral health concerns are addressed, you may feel less distracted by your mouth and more at ease during social and professional moments.
Carrying an unresolved dental concern can weigh on your thoughts throughout the day. Addressing it through oral surgery can replace ongoing uncertainty with a forward-looking plan, helping you feel more in control of your health.

You Move Forward with a Healthier Foundation and Confidence in Your Next Chapter.

Clarity for What Comes Next

Could Oral Surgery Fit Your Needs?

Questions about Oral Surgery often begin with uncertainty about whether it is necessary. Use these profiles as a simple self-check, then rely on a complete evaluation to understand what may protect your health and support your next step.

Patients Facing Tooth Removal

Severe damage can leave removal as the only option for protecting nearby teeth. If your tooth is too broken to repair, Oral Surgery may relieve discomfort and prepare you for replacement planning.

Patients Rebuilding Implant Support

Insufficient jawbone can complicate plans for dental implants. If you were told your bone is too thin or weak, cone beam CT (CBCT) imaging can help clarify whether a bone graft or sinus lift may help.

Patients Overcoming Surgical Anxiety

Fear of a surgical appointment can keep needed care on hold. You may still be a candidate. We offer nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV sedation, and your dentist reviews which one fits your treatment and health history.

Does This Sound Like You?

Questioning whether a surgical procedure is truly necessary is normal. If you recognize your experience here, Dr. Anthony Benza’s focus on surgical procedures supports a careful evaluation and clear explanation of appropriate options.

A Clearer Path Can Begin

Oral Surgery can turn persistent concerns into a thoughtful path toward renewed comfort and greater peace of mind.

Frequently asked questions

Oral Surgery FAQs

Questions about oral surgery are normal, especially when treatment involves healing or replacing missing teeth. We explain what to expect, review your health and goals, and outline appropriate options. If your concern is not covered here, please reach out so we can discuss it with you.

What does oral surgery at Galleria Dentistry include?

Our oral surgery services include the surgical placement of dental implants, which replace missing tooth roots, along with related steps such as bone grafting or a sinus lift when needed. We begin with an evaluation, then connect the surgical work to a crown, bridge, or denture restoration.
Most people need reasonably good overall health and adequate jawbone density for implant-related oral surgery. If your bone is thin or weak, that does not automatically rule out treatment. We can discuss a bone graft or sinus lift first, then determine whether implant placement fits your needs.
During your consultation, we review your health, examine your mouth, and discuss what you want to accomplish. This visit helps us assess candidacy, identify whether preliminary treatment is needed, and explain the sequence from surgery through the final crown, bridge, or denture. You will have time to ask questions.
Some discomfort and healing are expected after oral surgery, but each patient’s experience differs. The implant surgery itself typically takes one to two hours per implant and is generally easier than many people anticipate. We will explain what to expect afterward and when to contact us about concerns.
Typically, implant healing takes three to six months as the implant fuses with the surrounding jawbone. The timing may be shorter or longer based on your needs. After healing, we attach an adaptor called an abutment, then place the final crown, bridge, or denture.
On the day of surgery, we place the implant in the jaw and cover it with a healing cap to protect the area. The procedure is generally completed in one to two hours per implant. Your next steps depend on healing and whether preliminary procedures were part of your plan.
Dr. Gery Benza and Dr. Anthony Benza are qualified to perform the surgical portion of dental implant treatment in our office. Keeping this step in-house lets you discuss the surgical and restorative stages with our practice instead of being referred to an unfamiliar specialist.
Dental implants are one option for replacing missing teeth, but the final restoration may be a crown, bridge, or denture depending on how many teeth are involved. During your evaluation, we can review the choices and how each fits your oral health, goals, and treatment plan.
The cost of oral surgery varies with the treatment and its complexity, so we cannot provide a flat amount before an evaluation. Coverage depends on your plan and the service involved. We will review your recommended treatment and explain the associated financial details before care begins.
After implant-related oral surgery, ongoing care still matters. Brush twice daily, floss, use an ADA-approved mouthwash, avoid extremely crunchy or chewy foods, and protect your teeth during sports with a mouthguard. Regular checkups help us examine your implants, screen for gum disease, and monitor your oral health.

Two Generations of Caring Naples Dentists

We believe every patient deserves to feel heard, informed, and confident in their care. Our doctors bring decades of combined experience along with a genuine commitment to treating you like family.
Practicing since 1982, Dr. Gery has perfected the smiles of multiple generations of Naples families. A Case Western Reserve University graduate, he’s been voted a Gulfshore Magazine Top Dentist every year since 2011. He treats every patient gently and takes time to give each one his full attention.

Born and raised in Naples, Dr. Anthony returned home to continue his father’s legacy after earning his DMD from Case Western Reserve University. An Eagle Scout with “Mentor” status in CEREC technology, he blends the technical and artistic sides of dentistry, and patients often comment on his caring chairside manner.

Dr. Chelsea earned her DMD from Case Western Reserve University, where she received honors from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and she is Past President of the Collier County Dental Association. She focuses on smile design and clear aligner orthodontics, and she explains each step so you know what to expect.
A second-generation dentist raised in Colombia, Dr. Adriana trained through USC’s Advanced Standing Program and graduated with honors in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon society. Inspired by her late father’s passion for dentistry, she chose our family-owned practice and honors his memory through the dedication she brings to every patient.
