A Little Goes a Long Way
Dental radiographs or x-rays provide us with valuable information because we can see what's going on underneath your teeth and gums, between your teeth, under worn-out fillings and crowns, and around receding bone levels or abscesses and they reveal cavities and gum disease as dark places on the white teeth and bone images. Not only do x-rays help us troubleshoot dental problems, but they document your dental health status, establishing a baseline from which to monitor changes over time.
Digital x-rays use 90% less radiation than old-fashioned x-rays. Additional benefits include the elimination of old fashioned dark room chemicals, which is better for the environment. We can store them on our computer files, thus saving paper. For insurance purposes, referrals or patient education, they can be accurately reproduced any number of times. Digital x-rays are faster, cleaner, and allow us to provide better quality care while exposing you to less radiation.
